The Learned Pagan
I celebrate the sabbats of the moon and stars
and dance beneath its ethereal glow
I celebrate my ancestors, worship some may call,
and feast upon the riches they bestowed
I celebrate the balance and imbalance of awen
which many will never understand or know
I celebrate my constant companion, avalon
which one must understand to go.
Do you, my friends understand the meaning of these?
Or do you bow down and worship an almighty lie?
Do you know the meaning of miracles, majick, and love?
Or do you follow someone elses guide?
Can you tell me what you know of these?
And reassure my cynical mind?
Can you prove that which I hold dear, is shared by you as well?
Or will I find in years to come, you are really not that kind?
Walk with me by my side, my friend,
Share with me, the harmonies of the earth,
Bask with me in the eternal glow of love,
Rejoice in the ever flowing circle of rebirth.
Witness the depths of true majick,
Lie not in the wake of its mirth.
For shadows that can hide in the misty bogs
Sooner or later, reveal their worth.
